Data warehousing is rapidly migrating from a back-office reporting capability to a mission critical component of the real-time enterprise. To fully realize the value of a data warehouse, it must be integrated as an "active" component of the IT infrastructure. This workshop presents a reference architecture for deployment of an active data warehouse as the realization of business intelligence for a real-time enterprise. Case study examples are used to illustrate implementation of the reference architecture using a variety of technology building blocks.
